Back in January 2019 we shared our first South American coffee, that coffee was to be significant to many relationships we have formed, but most relevant here is our that with Toasted Coffee Roasters. 

It is a great pleasure we are back with Toasted to bring an offering from Pedregulho, Alta Mogiana, Brazil with the help of another newly formed relationship, that with coffee importer, Langdon Coffee Merchants.

Brazil is the largest producer of coffee in the world, accounting for over a third of the world’s supply. Brazil exports a variety of beans, with 90% of its exports being the Brazilian Arabica popular for its mild and balanced flavor. The coffee making regions in Brazil are greatly diverse with different altitudes, plant varieties and production systems.
The coffee making regions in Brazil are greatly diverse with different altitudes, plant varieties and production systems. The Brazil Esmeralda variety is grown in the Alta Mogiana and Pedregulho region of Brazil. The Mogiana region of northeastern São Paulo has approximately 47,000 ha dedicated to coffee production. The area is named after the
Companhia Mogiana Estrade de Ferro train which used to run through the area transporting coffee. Whilst the Pedergulho region is favored due to its climate, altitude and temperature.
The Mogiana regions are under the several farms under the brand of O’coffee which are the most prominent coffee exporters in Brazil. Across their several farms, there are over 5 million coffee trees contributing to an average production of 35,000 bags a year. Coffee’s focuses on continuing to provide a transparent, ethical and professional approach to direct trading.
